The Start of a Fire Pit

We have the start of a fire pit and a portion of the pillars...

Here is our outdoor kitchen...

The Final Concrete Pour

The guys worked 7 days this week so that they could complete all the concrete!

We have more pavers around the pool (these will also be surrounded by brick)...

A floor in the cabana!

A footing for the outdoor kitchen/bar...

And stairs/floor for the fire pit area!

On either side of the stairs will be pillars made of brick. 

Forms

We have more concrete forms, but nothing exciting. It seems like a lot is waiting on this next concrete pour, and I have no idea when that's happening because we couldn't decide on a kitchen layout so that's not even formed yet. 

The fire pit seating looks basically done, I think?

We have the coping and deck jets all set, and the brick is grouted...

Mas Cabana

Cabana!

The cabana is on its way!

And so is the fire pit area...we have backs to the seats and the two corner tables!

Brick!

They started some of the brick work!

It's not at all an accurate portrayal of the final product because they haven't grouted it or done custom color to make it much lighter/whiter, but it still looks kinda pretty!

In between the pavers where it's dirt now will be ground cover or fake grass. I was leaning towards live ground cover because I'm not a big fan of fake grass, but then I saw the most adorable house in Newport right on the sand, and their front porch area was so cute, even with fake grass, so we may go that direction. 

Concrete
